Purpose: Amid the fierce competition for survival, companies are investing a lot of time and money to strengthen their organizations' capabilities to survive. This study aimed to examine the impact of online communication tools for collaboration in organization on Collaborative Performance(CP) and organizational effectiveness, and the moderating effect of communication type. Research design, data, and methodology: This study utilized a structured survey via self-reported questionnaire. It sampled employees in Korea, with 300 samples used for the analysis. SEM, bootstrapping and chi-square analysis were conducted to test hypotheses. Results: First, Ease of Use(EOU), Usefulness(USE), Media Richness(MR) and Compatibility(COMP) had a significant impact on Collaboration Culture(CC), and Ease of Use(EOU), Usefulness(USE) and Media Richness(MR) had a significant impact on Performance of Collaboration(PERF). Second, Collaboration Culture (CC) and Performance of Collaboration(PERF) had a significant impact on Job Satisfaction and Organization Commitment. Third, Usefulness and Media Richness influenced Job Satisfaction and Organization Commitment through Collaboration Culture(CC) and Performance of Collaboration(PERF). Fourth, there was a significant difference in the relationship depending on the type of communication. Implications: These results include confirming the supportive role of collaborative tools as a basic information service, and identifying their relationship to organizational effectiveness sequentially through task application. It also revealed and presented the relationship between online communication collaboration tools to organizational effectiveness as well as the performance of collaboration, which is more specifically subdivided job satisfaction and organizational immersion. These results could provide one implication for the construction and utilization of collaborative tools based on the main attributes of online communication collaboration tools to improve accessibility and organizational effectiveness considering the collaboration performance expected by the organization. In order to improve accessibility and organizational effectiveness considering the collaborative performance expected by companies, one implication can be given for the construction and utilization of collaborative tools based on the main properties of online communication collaboration tools.
