This study attempted to investigate the possibility and effectiveness of virtual reality (VR)-based makeup education by examining the perception of VR by college women who are majoring in cosmetology and empirically analyze the influence of VR-based beauty contents on makeup courses. The goal is to suggest the possibility of convergence in education by finding the best way to apply VRbased beauty contents to makeup courses, and the results found the followings: The respondents’ perception of VR and the application of VR contents to makeup courses was higher after the application of the new technology, which means that students are familiar with advanced information communication technologies. It is also anticipated that VR content would have a positive effect on cosmetology courses which require segmentation and specialization. As the perception of VR improved, the respondents have become more aware of the application of VR-based beauty content to makeup courses. Therefore, effects on makeup education due to VR content are expected. It appears that there should be further studies on the development and application of various VR-based beauty content and educational programs.
