The multi-material application for automotive components is increasing, and dissimilar joining is becoming increasingly important. Mechanical fastening is a practical solution for dissimilar joints. FDS is to conclude the rivet is formed by the screw, the process is simple, and the joint performance is uniform. Also, there is less constrained material bonding. This study saw the effect of process variables on the quality of SOP junction in the FDS joining process of aluminum sheet. SOP is a inventing method similar to the BOP (Bead on plate) in the conventional melt welding to recognize the fastening characteristics of the material (mainly lower) and screw of the core of the fastening force in the FDS Junction as the abbreviation of the Screw on plate. The material used in the experiment was A6061-T6 plate of thickness 2.0mm. The main process parameters are tool force and spindle rotation at the time of penetration, and the experimental plan was designed by the central synthesis method. Reaction (quality) factor was the pull-out load. The maximum tensile load was 4.84kN and 4.87kN for predicted and experimental values, respectively. As a result, the SOP joining test was verified to be simple and accurate to evaluate the FDS joining performance.
