This research used the RSR method to evaluate the levels of teams and comprehensive performance abilities in the league by analyzing the offensive and defensive variables of the Chinese men’s professional basketball league teams. In order to achieve the purposes of the study, the offensive and defensive data of 20 teams in the men's professional basketball league of China in 1220 games in the past three years (2016-17season, 2017-18season, 2018-19season) was analyzed. The results of the study are as follows： First of a ll, the results of using RSR values to classify the teams in the CBA leagues are as follows. According to the offensive and defensive RSR value, 20 teams from CBA can be divided into four levels. A-Class team is the Liaoning FL. B-Class teams are the Zhejiang L, Xinjiang FT, Guangdong ST, Shanghai S, Shenzhen A, Fujian S, Beijing D, Shandong H and Shanxi D. C-class teams are the Jiangsu D, Jilin NT, Zhejiang GB, Sichuan BW, Guangzhou LL, Tianjin P, QingDao E, Nanjing MK and Bayi R. D-class team is the Beijing RF. Compared with other teams in the past three years, Liaoning FL scored higher in 2P%, FT%, AST and STL among the 12 offensive and defensive indicators. By summarizing the above results, it can be confirmed once again that the RSR method using offensive and defensive indicators is a more scientific and objective method for evaluating team levels and analyzing performance ability.
