Radiological emergency preparedness systems around the world have been developedto protect human and environment after the Chernobyl and Fukushima accidents. RAPS-K(Radiological Accident Preparedness System in Korea) has been also developed and constructedto evaluate the behavior of radionuclides released into atmosphere and ocean, and to estimatethe following dose assessment. The system is composed of atmospheric dispersion, marinedispersion and dose assessment models, and GUI (Graphic User Interface) module. This studywas introduced the characteristics of the radiological preparedness systems developed in somecountries including Korea and presented the broad functions of the numerical models in RAPS-K. RAPS-K is constructed on the web to access it through an username and password. The describedsystem is now in operation for government and nuclear-related organizations in Korea inpreparation for a nuclear accident.
