본 연구의 목적은 4차 산업혁명 시대 직업교육현장에서 요구되는 핵심직무역량에 관한 직업훈련기관의 인식과 준비도, 효과적 훈련방향에 대한 요구를 파악하는데 있다. 이를 위해 국가기간전략산업직종 훈련 사업에 참여한 기관을 대상으로 WEF가 제시한 핵심직무역량에 대한 중요성 인식과 준비도, 직업훈련을 위한 효과적 교육방법으로써 프로젝트 수업에 대한 인식, 사이버교육 및 IT융합기술 활용에 대한 요구를 조사하였다. 2017년과 2019년에 실시한 조사를 비교 분석한 결과, 직업훈련기관들은 기술 능력, 사회적 협업 능력, 나아가 복합적 문제해결 능력의 흐름으로 그 중요성을 인식한 한편, 직업훈련기관들이 이러한 역량을 제대로 개발하기 위한 준비도는 미흡하게 인식하여 4차 산업혁명 대응을 지원하는 역량개발 인프라와 제도적 뒷받침이 필요함을 드러내고 있었다. 적합한 훈련 방법으로써 대두된 프로젝트 수업의 효과에 대해 긍정적으로 인식한 가운데, 직종에 따른 효과성 인식에서 유의한 차이가 있었다. 사이버 교육 및 첨단 기술의 활용은 점차 증가 추세로, 활용의 효과성에 대해 긍정적으로 인식하고 있었으며, 이에 대한 제도적 허용에 대한 요구가 높게 나타났다. 이에 4차 산업혁명 대응 직업훈련의 정책 및 프로그램 개발에 대한 방향관련 시사점 및 개선 방향이 논의되었다.
The purpose of this study is to identify vocational training institutes’ perceptions of core job competencies required in the era of the fourth industrial revolution and their readiness and needs for training. To this end, we conducted surveys of their perceptions of the importance of and readiness for core job competencies that WEF addressed, perceptions of project-based instruction as an effective training method, and needs for integration of advanced information technologies (IT) for training. According to the results of comparing the two surveys conducted in 2017 and 2019, the vocational training institutes perceived core job competencies to be important, especially the complex problem solving skills, technical skills, and social skills. On the other hand, they perceived the degree of readiness for properly developing these competencies to be slightly inadequate, revealing the needs for institutional support and competencies development infrastructure to support the fourth industrial revolution. In addition, while the positive effects of project-based instruction emerged as a suitable training method, there was a significant difference in the recognition of effectiveness according to occupation. Lastly, the use of advanced IT was gradually increasing. We discussed implications for the improvement of policy and program development in response to the fourth industrial revolution.
