예배에서의 찬송의 문제는 어제오늘의 문제가 아니다. 이 문제는 선교역사 137년이 지난 한국교회에서 여전히 해결되지 않은 과제이다. 서구교회뿐 아 니라 국내교회에서도’예배 전쟁’이란 용어가 사용될 정도로 한국교회 예배 는 문제를 안고 있다. 사실 예배에서 음악적 요소가 예배 전체의 35∼50%를 차지할 만큼 비중이 크다. 하지만 한국교회에서 예배를 인도하는 목회자의 찬송가에 대한 이해 부족, 음악적 자질 부족, 예배를 드리는 성도에 대한 목회자의 찬송 교육이 제대로 이루어지지 않음으로 인해 예배에서의 찬송에 대한 역할과 위상이 약해지고 있는 것은 안타까운 현실이다. 목회자의 직무는 하나님의 말씀 선 포를 잘 감당해야 할 뿐 아니라, 동시에 하나님께 드리는 예배가 온전해지도 록 하기 위한 예배 찬송에 대한 전문성을 갖추어 하나님께 드리는 예배가 온 전해지도록 하는 책임도 있다. 본 연구에서 연구자는 예배 신학적 그리고 실천적 차원에서 한국 신학교육 에서 목회자 후보생들의 찬송 교육의 필요성을 제기하고 해결방안을 제시하였다. 현재한국신학교육체제및교회의상황으로볼때목회자후보생찬 송 교육과정의 구축은 당장 쉽지 않은 일이지만 교단, 신학교, 그리고 교회 적으로 그 필요성을 지속적으로 인식해 나갈 때 문제는 해결되리라 본다. 한 국교회 예배 갱신을 위해서 예배 찬송의 위상을 찾아야 하고 이를 위해서는 예배를 인도하는 목회자의 예배에 대한 이해와 예배 찬송의 영성과 능력을 갖추게 하는 일은 매우 중요하다고 하겠다. 현대교회의 예배인도자인 목회자들도 꾸준한 연습과 준비를 통해 하나님이 받으시기에 합당한, 예배 찬양을 드릴 수 있어야 한다. 연습되고 준비되지 않은 음악은 자신도 불안하게 만들 뿐만 아니라 예배를 드리는 회중들의 마 음에도은혜를끼칠수없게된다. 예배와찬송은분리될수없고, 목회자는 예배를 인도하는 자이다. 이 같은 중요한 역할을 위한 목회자의 찬송 교육은 매우 중요하다.
The problem of hymns in worship has not been the problem of yesterday and today. This problem is still an unsolved issue in Korean churches after 137 years of missionary history. Korean churches are experiencing the same problem as western churches have experienced so called “worship war”. In fact, musics are composed of 35-50% in worship. However, it is un- fortunate that the role and status of hymns in worship have been weakening due to lack of understanding of hymns of pastors who lead worship, lack of musical qualities, and lack of proper hymns education of pastors. Pastors are not only responsible for proclaiming the word of God, but also have the responsibility to make worship towarding God be holistic with expertise in hymns In this study, the researcher raised for the necessity of hymn education of pastoral candidates in Korean theological schools and suggested solutions from view of theological and practical level of worship. When we consider the current situation of Korean theological education system and Korean churches, the establishment of hymn education curriculum for pastoral can- didates is not easy. However the problem will be solved when denominations, schools, and churches continue to recognize the necessity. For the renewal of worship in Korean churches, it is necessary to find the right status of worship hymns, and it is very important to ensure that pastors who leads worship has an understanding of worship and the ability to sing hymns during worship. Even pastors who are worship leaders of modern Korean churches should be able to give hymn praising for God through constant practice and preparation. Worship music that has not been practiced and prepared will not only make worship leaders be anxious, but will not be able to give grace to the hearts of the congregations druing worship. Worship and hymn cannot be separated, and pastors are the person who lead the worship. For this important role, it is very critical to educate hymns for pastoral candidates.
