본 연구는 2015년 벤처기업정밀실태조사 원자료(raw data)를 활용하여 대전충남지역의 벤처기업 실태를 세밀하게 분석하고 활성화 방안을 제시하였다. 분석결과를 전체적으로 고려하였을때, 대전충남지역은 지역경제의 역동성 제고를 위해 창업 활성화가 절실한 시점이며, 성장이 다소정체된 고도성장기·성숙기 기업들의 도약을 위해 수출 지원과 같은 대책이 필요한 것으로 판단된다. 따라서 본 연구는 대전충남지역이 보유한 지역적 장·단점을 고려하여 다음과 같은 정책적 시사점을 제시하고자 한다. 첫째, 벤처기업 관련 인프라 정비와 벤처지원제도 마련 등 체계적인 창업 촉진 방안이 필요하다. 더불어 우수 벤처기업이 수도권 등 타 지역으로 이탈되는 것을 방지하기 위한 인센티브 제도와 업종 간 균형, 지속성장을 위한 비제조업의 활성화도 고려될 필요가 있다. 둘째, 성숙기와 시장확대 단계의 벤처기업 비중이 높게 나타나고 있어, 이들의 도약과 지속성장을 위해 해외진출을적극 장려·지원할 필요가 있다. 그 일환으로 기업 내 수출전담부서를 설치하고, 해외 벤처기업관계자들에게 효과적으로 기업을 홍보할 수 있는 방안도 검토해야 할 것이다. 셋째, 대학, 정부· 연구기관, 중소벤처기업들과의 협력은 물론, 해외 기업 및 연구기관들과도 협력을 확대하고 시스템화하는 노력을 기울일 필요가 있다. 이를 통해 벤처기업의 기술수준 제고는 물론, 원활한 해외진출도 도모할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 넷째, 향후 인력부족 심화와 벤처 창업의 역동성 제고 차원에서 여성인력 활용도 적극적으로 검토되어야 할 것이다. 다섯째, 해외투자를 유치하거나 체류중인 우수 외국인·유학생의 적극적인 활용을 통해 지역 내 벤처생태계의 글로벌화를 유도할 필요성이 있다. 외국인들과의 활발한 네트워킹을 통해 비즈니스 관행이나 소비자의 니즈를 용이하게파악함으로써 글로벌 기업으로의 성장을 돕는 체계적인 노력이 요구된다.

This study delves into venture companies in Daejeon and Chungnam areas using raw data of '2015 Survey of Korea Venture Firms' and suggests ways to activate them. Considering the results of the analysis, Daejeon and Chungnam areas are in the midst of revitalization of the venture business in order to improve dynamics of the regional economy, and it is necessary to take measures such as export support in order to take a leap in high growth and mature companies with a somewhat stagnant growth do. Therefore, this study suggests the following policy implications considering the regional characteristics of Daejeon and Chungnam areas. First, there is a need for systematic initiatives to promote venture businesses, such as infrastructure improvement and venture support systems. Second, the proportion of venture companies in the maturity and expansion stages is high, so it is necessary to actively encourage and support overseas expansion for their leaps and sustained growth. Third, cooperation with universities, government and research institutes, other venture companies, as well as with overseas companies and research institutes needs to be expanded and systematized. Fourth, the utilization of female workers should be actively reviewed in order to enhance the labor shortage and the dynamics of venture start-up. Fifth, there is a need to encourage the globalization of venture ecosystems in the region through active utilization of excellent foreign and foreign students who are attracting foreign investment or are staying.
