이 연구는 산조춤의 역사적 흐름에 따라 시대별로 유형을 분류하고, 가장 활발히 추어졌던 1950년대~1980년대 산조춤의 구조적 특징을 살펴본 후 유형과 변화과정에 따른 전승 가치를 밝히고자 하였다. 연구방법은 인문자연과학적 연구 방법을 택하였으며, 각 산조춤의 문헌 자료와 동영상 및 사진 자료를 활용하였다. 산조춤은 1920년대부터 추어진 것으로 예측하며 1세기 동안 많은 변화를 거쳐왔다. 이 춤은 1950년대에 들어서서 본격적으로 활성화되기 시작했고, 무대화를 거쳐 다양한 유파들로 자리 잡게 되었다. 현재까지도 김진걸, 송범, 한영숙, 김백봉, 황무봉 등 많은 유파들이 전승·보존되어 왔다. 이러한 춤들은 자유분방한 표현력과 무한한 창작의 형태로 발전하였다. 그 외에도 호남 산조춤은 권번 출신의 기녀로부터 이어져 온 춤사위로서 인정받아 전라북도 무형문화재로 지정받았다. 또한, 한영숙 산조춤은 음악의 발전과 더불어 새로운 산조춤의 형태로서 독특한 장단에 맞춰 춤으로 발전된 형태를 보인다. 현재는 더 나아가 한 유파에서 파생되어 또 다른 산조춤으로 더 다양하게 형성되고 있는 시점이다. 이러한 자유로운 산조 가락의 형식과 같이 춤의 형식도 자유로운 것이 특징으로써 창작자에 따라 산조 음악, 의상, 춤사위 등의 구조에서 다양하게 표현함을 알 수 있었다. 또한, 한국 현대 창작춤이 발전하는데 가교적인 역할을 한데에 가치가 있다는 결론이 도출되었다.
This study classified the types according to the history of Sanjo dance and looked at the structural features of Sanjo dance in the 1950s and 1970s, when it was most actively performed, and tried to reveal the overall value of the types and changes. The research method took the method of the study of humanities and natural sciences, and utilized the literature, video and photographic data of each mountain dance. Sanjo dance has undergone many changes over the past century, predicting that it has been performed since the 1920s. The dance began to become active in the 1950s, and a variety of yuppas were established through the stage. Until now, many Yuppa, including Kim Jin-gul, Song Bum, Kim Baek-bong, Hwangmu-bong have been preserved. These dances developed into freewheeling expressions and infinite forms of creativity. In addition, Honam Mountainjo Dance was designated as an intangible cultural asset of Jeollabuk-do in recognition of its traditional dance as a dance that has been performed by a giraffe from Kwon Boon. In addition, Han Young-sook's Sanjo Dance is a new form of Sanjo Dance with the development of music, and has developed into a dance to a unique rhythm. Now is a time when more and more mountain-eating dances are being formed, derived from one tribe. This free form of dance, such as this free form of mountain chopsticks, was characterized by its variety in the structure of music, costume, dance etc. depending on the creator. It has also been concluded that dance creative dance is worth playing a bridging role in developing.
