본 연구의 목적은 전시회가 지역에 미치는 경제적 효과를 산출하고 이에 따른 발전을 위한 시사점을 제시하는데 있다. 연구목적을 달성하기 위해 우리나라의 대표적인 전시회 중 하나라 할 수 있는 ‘2017 서울 모터쇼’를 대상으로 설문조사를 통해 참관객의 소비지출액을 파악하였다. 이후 한국은행에서 발간하는 ‘2013 지역산업연관표’를 기준으로 전시회 참관객의 소비지출 구조에 따라 연관 산업을 통합하였다. 최종적으로 전체 산업을 33X33으로 통합하였으며, 이 중 전시회 참관객 연관 산업은 입장, 숙박, 식음료, 교통 등 4가지 산업으로 도출하였다. 이를 바탕으로 산업별 승수를 비교하고 전시회 참관객의 소비지출을 적용하여 ‘2017 서울 모터쇼’가 발생시키는 경제적 파급효과를 산출하였다. 도출된 결과를 바탕으로 향후 서울 모터쇼가 지역 경제에 미치는 파급효과를 증대하고 지속 가능성을 증대하기 위한 방안을 제시하였다.
The purpose of this study is to analysis the economic impact of the exhibition on the region and to suggest implications for development. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, the survey was conducted on ‘2018 Seoul Motor Show’ which is one of the representative exhibition in Korea. In addition, based on ‘2013 regional I/O Table’ published by the Bank of Korea, related industries were integrated according to the expenditure structure of the visitors. Finally, the entire industry was integrated into 33X33, and among the visitors, the related industries were derived into four industries: entry, lodgeing, food and beverage, and transportation. Based on the result, it was compared the multipliers by industry and applied expenditure from the visitors to analysis the economic impact generated by ‘2017 Seoul Motor Show’. Also, it was suggested ways to increase the economic impact and sustainability of the Seoul Motor Show in the future.
