이 연구에서는 청각장애학생을 위한 국어과 보조교과서 개발의 필요성과 이와 관련한 특수교육 현장의 요구를 알아보고자 하였다. 청각장애학교 특수교사 9명, 통합학급 교사 6명, 그리고 특수교사로 재직 중인 청각장애 당사자 6명을 대상으로 개방형 설문지를 배부하였으며, 설문 내용은 질적 연구 방법으로 분석하였다. 설문 문항은 청각장애학생용 국어과 보조교과서 개발 목적, 청각장애학생의 낮은 국어과 학업성취에 대한 인식, 공통 교육과정 국어과 적용의 문제점, 청각장애학생을 위한 국어과 보조교과서 개발 방안, 그리고 DVD 개발에 대한 의견 등으로 모두 5개의 문항으로 구성하였다. 연구 결과 연구 대상자들은 청각장애학생을 위한 보조교과서 개발의 필요성을 인식하고 있으며, 어휘 및 문장 중심의 교수-학습 자료가 개발되기를 희망하였다. 또한 DVD 상의 음성, 문자, 수화의 선택과 실질적 도움이 가능한 자료의 개발을 요구하였다. 결론에서는 연구 결과를 바탕으로 청각장애학생을 위한 국어과 보조교과서 개발 정책의 방향을 탐색하여 보았다.
This study seeks to investigate the needs to develop Korean supplement textbook for students with hearing impairments and the related requirements in the field of special education. Towards this end, open questionnaires were distributed to 9 teachers of schools for the hearing impaired, 6 teachers of integrated classes and 6 hearing impaired people working as special education teachers, The survey contents were analyzed by qualitative research methods. The survey is composed of five questions regarding the purpose of developing Korean supplement textbook for students with hearing impairments, hearing impaired students' low awareness on the academic achievement of Korean, problems of applying Korean common curriculum, methods to develop Korean supplement textbook for students with hearing impairments, and opinions about the DVD development. The results of this study showed that the subjects were aware of the needs to develop supplement textbook for students with hearing impairments and hoped that teaching-learning materials with focus on vocabulary and sentence would be developed. In addition, they required the development of materials that can provide substantial assistance and selection of voice, text and sign language. In the conclusion, the policy directions for developing Korean supplement textbook for students with hearing impairments were explored based on the research results
