Imprecisely defined systems of linear equations play vital roles in various scientific andengineering applications. In this study, impreciseness is considered in a fuzzy sense. A systemof linear equations with crisp coefficients and fuzzy unknowns is established and a new andstraightforward method for solving this fuzzy system using the well-known concept of linearcombination is proposed. In this approach, the system is first converted into an equivalentinterval form, and thereafter, using the linear combination approach, a crisp representation ofthe system is obtained without loss of generality. Subsequently, by solving the correspondingcrisp system using two different sets of linear combination coefficients, a final solution isobtained. To validate the proposed method, various example problems were solved andcompared.
